Welcome! This is the website of the Christian 'HOPE for AIDS' project "POSITIVE RAY". We are based in Port Shepstone, in the province of KwaZuluNatal, South Africa.
We at Positive Ray wish all our friends God's richest blessings......

"THEREFORE,...HAVING BEEN JUSTIFIED BY FAITH, WE HAVE PEACE WITH GOD THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST....THROUGH WHOM WE ALSO HAVE ACCESS BY FAITH UNTO THE GRACE IN WHICH WE STAND, AND REJOICE IN HOPE OF THE GLORY OF GOD....
NOW HOPE DOES NOT MAKE US ASHAMED, BECAUSE THE LOVE OF GOD HAS BEEN POURED OUT IN OUR HEARTS BY THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO WAS GIVEN TO US.... (Romans chapter 5).
Do you have that dreadful feeling that all your best friends are for some reason ignoring you? Maybe you feel that in some bad way you must have disappointed them by some conceived self failing. You are troubled in your soul. You perhaps wrestle with the depressing thought that even Jesus Himself must surely have forgotten you. Friend; be at Peace with God! You need have no grounds to be ashamed of anything;(dreamed of, or for real!) before man or God. You have His divine assurance that your fears are unfounded, (that is unless you still have the misfortune in your life of not knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as your very own 'PERSONAL SAVIOUR')
Through His sacrifice of His life on Calvary's cross, as a Christian you must today be assured confidently and without fear that your every sin is cleansed and you ARE "JUSTIFIED BY YOUR FAITH" in Him.
You stand upheld by His GRACE (un-merited favour).
Positive Ray's ministry fully supports God's Holy Word in this matter. Many HIV/Aids victims, sadly, are living day by day believing that they must have committed an un-forgivable sin for which they must be too ashamed to confess to family and friends, for fear of rejection.
Even that negative self-image can today be utterly reversed if you open wide your mind and heart to the vast immeasurable "LOVE OF GOD" so wonderfully poured out by His Holy Spirit given to you.
Friend no matter who you are, or what you may or may not have done..... Rejoice today, as it says in our Bible Reading, IN THE HOPE OF THE GLORY OF GOD.

POSITIVE RAY:- (POSITIVE RESPONSE TO AIDS) requires YOU.-- Meaning the Church. It is an hiv/AIDS project of the Evangelical Church in South Africa, working in partnership with an International Missionary Organisation called SIM ( Serving In Missions), together with Churches in the UGU region in Southern KwaZulu Natal.
The main objective is to motivate and mobilise churches to participate in a programme of action to address the hiv/AIDS crisis in the region.
The overall goal of the project is to mobilise churches and to train volunteers who will form Action teams doing hiv/AIDS work in schools, factories and within the community.
Positive Ray works in partnership with like-minded organisations such as Hospice, Genesis, Department of Health, Two Tunics, Hope For AIDS and Rockingham Church of Christ in Australia.

The real hope of conquering the HIV pandemic is 'prevention'. Even though the rate of infection is alarming , the rate of uninfected people is cause for hope. Many of these are youth. We are working with churches in an HIV prevention outreach programme focussing on 'behaviour change',and on 'attitudes and moral values' that will contribute to a better quality of life.
We promote the ABC formula:-
A = Abstinence
B = Being faithful to you partner
C = Commitment to the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ
Besides this we also focus on 'Education & Awareness', 'Home-based care', and 'Skills development' Home visits are conducted to meet with people in a friendly environment. People are encouraged to go for VCT testing if they are in doubt of their HIV status.
